Dog and Cat License Renewal

Pet Licenses expire on January 31 or each year for all dogs and cats.  License applications, available on the Forms page and at Borough Hall, should be submitted with a check, made payable to the Borough of Old Tappan, by the last day of February of each year.  In compliance with State Law, proof of rabies vaccination must be furnished with the application.  The vaccination must be valid through December of the year that the pet is being licensed.  If it is not, you will need to have your pet vaccinated before a license can be issued.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO BE AWARE THAT RABIES IS PRESENT IN WILD ANIMALS IN NEW JERSEY.  IT IS THEREFORE VITAL THAT ALL DOGS AND CATS BE VACCINATED AND LICENSED.    N.J.A.C. CHAPTER 8:23A 4.1  Requirements for licensure  read more ...

If you have any questions, please contact Mary at the Borough Hall at 201-664-1849, ext.10.  Owners who do not obtain the yearly license by the last day of February must pay a late fee.  The late fee is $5.00 for the first month that the license application is late and $2.00 for each additional month that the license application is late.
