The 2020 Presidential November General Election has been modified to require a Vote-By-Mail Ballot be sent to every "Active, registered" Voter

Bergen County residents may register to vote at the Office of the Superintendent of Elections, located at One Bergen County Plaza, Room 380, in Hackensack. In order to meet the needs of residents, this office will be open from 9:00am to 9:00pm on Tuesday, October 13, 2020.

The Old Tappan Borough Hall will be open 8:30am-9pm on 10-13-2020


ONLY ADA Disabled voters will be allowed to use a polling booth on the November 3, 2020 Presidential General Election.


Active, Registered voters should be receiving their Vote-by-Mail ballot from Bergen County on or before October 5, 2020 to their registered address.

Old Tappan’s normal polling location will be open on the November 3, 2020 Election Day.  Voters who DO NOT COMPLETE their VBM Ballot and wish to go to the polling locations will be handed a PROVISIONAL (PAPER) BALLOT.  The physical polls will ONLY be able to be utilized by the ADA Disabled.  A Notice from Bergen County will be sent to all "Active" Voters notifying them of their assigned Polling Location - among other important information

THERE WILL BE NO PHYSICAL SAMPLE BALLOTS MAILED TO VOTERS PRIOR TO ELECTION DAY. The Sample Ballot for the 2020 General Election will be available, once established, on a website to be determined by the Bergen County Clerk.

As soon as you receive your VBM Ballot, you are encouraged to place it back in the mail - postage will be paid for.  If the USPS makes you nervous, then you are also encouraged to drop your VBM Ballot in one of many secured drop box locations throughout Bergen County.  Installation of drop boxes is anticipated to take place soon.

The powers and duties of the Borough of Old Tappan Golf Commission are established by Borough Ordinance Section 9-13.This ordinance provides as follows:

               The Golf Course Commission shall:

A. Be responsible for the supervision and control of the operation and regulation of the Old Tappan Municipal Golf Course and over all forms of recreation, playground and public entertainment and activities carried on therewith.


Establish and adopt suitable rates, charges, rules, regulations and bylaws for the purpose of carrying out its objects, provided that no such rates, charges, rules, regulations or bylaws shall become effective without the approval of the Mayor and Borough Council.


Keep regular and accurate financial records and make same available for review by the Mayor and Council and present the same to the Mayor and Council at least once a year.


Have all the powers, duties, functions, obligations and responsibilities as provided in N.J.S.A. 40:61-22.9 and the supplements and amendments thereto.
